Arsenal legend Ian Wright believes that Thierry Henry will leave the Highbury club at the end of the current season.

Henry, who moved to Highbury from Juventus in 1999, this season overtook Wright as the club's record goalscorer.

But the 28-year-old French forward has been linked with a switch to Barcelona and is rated as an odds-on chance to join the Spanish giants by bookmakers.

Highbury chairman Peter Hill-Wood has admitted: "I'm realistic enough to know that if he wanted to go he would and there is nothing we could do about it."

And now Wright has voiced his fears that Henry will opt to quit the Gunners this summer.

"My gut feeling is Thierry is going to leave," Wright said. "If I was in the same position as him I would.

"When I was an Arsenal player, it never crossed my mind to leave. But I was never the world star that Thierry is, so I was quite happy to be at a club of such stature.

"I could also see that the team was getting ready to take off. You were looking at a team back then that could dominate, as it did for a while, but I can't see that now.

"When Patrick Vieira left I was shocked and now I think Thierry might have done as much as he can do at Arsenal," Wright added.
