Manchester City defender Ben Thatcher could return to the squad for the match against former club Tottenham Hotspur after missing the draw at Middlesbrough with a calf injury.
Manager Stuart Pearce said: "I think Ben will be fine. He wanted to play at the weekend then limped past me."
French forward Antoine Sibierski is doubtful after suffering a back problem during the game at the Riverside Stadium.
Claudio Reyna and Danny Mills remain sidelined with long-term injuries.

Centre-half King, who sustained a groin injury in the recent victory over Birmingham, is not expected to return for another two weeks.
Anthony Gardner will continue to deputise for King, while Jol will also be without winger Andy Reid. The former Nottingham Forest player is sidelined with knee ligament damage.
Striker Mido, scorer of one of the goals in Spurs' win over Newcastle United on New Year's Eve, plays his penultimate game for the club before joining up with Egypt for their African Nations Cup campaign.
