Striker Kris Boyd tonight completed his dream move from Kilmarnock to Rangers.
The 22-year-old will not be available for selection until the January transfer window opens, but that did not prevent the deal, believed to be worth close to £500,000, being sealed at Ibrox.
Boyd said: "It's a dream to sign for the club and I can't wait to start working with the players."
The Scottish Premier League leading scorer and his agent, Raymond Sparkes, held talks with Rangers officials in Glasgow today after a fee was agreed with Kilmarnock, and they agreed a contract keeping Boyd at Rangers until the summer of 2009.
Boyd had his heart set on a move to Rangers and the SPL champions fended off competition from Sheffield Wednesday and other English clubs.
Kilmarnock chairman Michael Johnston had said earlier today: "I'm pleased to say we reached a successful conclusion after talks and we have agreed a fee with Rangers.
"It is close to what we were looking for, which was £500,000.
"And we have secured an agreement on a percentage of a future fee, which we felt was important because we feel certain Kris Boyd is going to develop very well."
Boyd, a lifelong Rangers fan, must now sit out the Christmas fixtures but can look forward to a debut for his new club next month, probably in the Scottish Cup tie against Peterhead on January 7 at Ibrox.
