In the Women’s FAI Cup Final, Dundalk City overcame the challenge of Peamount United, winning 1-0 with the all-important goal scored by Sonia Hoey in the 16th minute.

A superb long-range free-kick was parried by the Peamount ‘kepper and as the ball was played back across the six-yard box, Hoey was on hand with a well-taken finish.

The match was played before the FAI Carlsberg Cup final, which Drogheda won, beating Cork City 2-0 in front of 25,000 spectators at Lansdowne Road.
