Shamrock Rovers caretaker boss Alan O’Neill was disappointed after last night’s play-off defeat (3-2 on aggregate) to Dublin City.
After the final whistle, the Rovers hero said: "It’s a sad day for the club. It is how we respond to this now that matters most.
"We gave it our best shot but unfortunately it just was no good enough on the night."
Dublin City Chief Executive Ronan Seery told RTÉ Radio: "We’ve shown great character to bounce back."
