Portsmouth chairman Milan Mandaric has cast further doubt over the future of Fratton Park boss Alain Perrin.
The Frenchman's depressing record can boast only four wins in 21 matches following Saturday's 3-0 defeat at Liverpool.
With matches against Chelsea and Manchester United coming up, Pompey could well soon fall into the bottom three in the Barclays Premiership and Mandaric has admitted he must 'respond' to the situation.
Mandaric told Sky Sports News: "Of course there is a lot of dissatisfaction I'm quite sure with our supporters with the results, especially in the last couple of games we've played.
"I'm looking into the situation very carefully, with a lot of attention. I'm going to respond, I owe this to this club, the supporters and of course myself."
Mandaric has parted company with five managers since taking over in 1999 - Alan Ball, Tony Pulis, Steve Claridge, Graham Rix and Harry Redknapp - as well as director of football Velimir Zajec.
Pompey have been linked with a move for Sheffield United manager Neil Warnock. The Blades boss has guided his side to the top of the Coca-Cola Championship but has not been offered a new contract at Bramall Lane despite his present agreement running out in June.
George Burley, the former Ipswich Town and Derby County boss who was astonishingly dismissed as manager of Hearts last month despite taking the Edinburgh club to the top of the Bank of Scotland Premier League, has also been mooted as a possible replacement for Perrin.
