Manchester United and Northern Ireland legend George Best remains in a critical condition, the doctor treating him said today.
Best, 59, is on a life support machine in a London hospital.
Dr Akeel Alisa, assistant to Professor Roger Williams, who has been treating Best, said there had been little change in Best's health overnight.
“I would say that he's had a stable night. He remains very critical and in a dangerous condition so far,” said Dr Alisa. “We haven't seen any dramatic improvement in his condition so far.”
Phil Hughes, Best's agent, said his family were taking strength from the support of the public.
“They (the family) are bearing up. They would like to say thank you to all the well-wishers. It's a very hard time for all of us,” he said.
Dr Alisa said Prof Williams would be giving more details on Best's condition later this afternoon.
