Derry City are apparently involved in a stand-off with the eircom League over when their penultimate league fixture with St Patrick's Athletic will go ahead.

The match was originally fixed for Friday November 11 but moved to Monday November 14 with the game due to shown live on RTÉ Two.

Derry contacted the eircom League and informed them that The Brandywell is unavailable on Mondays because of the regular weekly greyhound meeting. The game was subsequently switched to Sunday November 13.

Derry are apparently adamant that the game will go ahead as originally planned on November 11.

However, it is understood that the dates and kick-off times for games are at the sole discretion of the eircom League. So even though Derry City wishes the game to be played on Friday night, it appears that the game will go ahead on Sunday afternoon.
