Irish Olympic boxer Andy Lee is the latest sports star to agree to take on snooker legend Jimmy White in a special exhibition night arranged by Limerick FC for the South Court Hotel in Limerick on Monday night.

Middleweight Lee, who has been strongly linked with signing a pro deal with Lennox Lewis former US based coach Emanuel Stewart, will take on White over one frame.

Hurling and rugby aces Ciaran Carey and Rob Henderson  will also  cross cues with The Whirlwind as will Blues captain Paul Finucane.

All proceeds from the evening, which will also feature top Republic of Ireland Billiards and Snooker Association (RIBSA)player John Torpey will go toward the eircom League First Division side.

Torpey, who rattled  down a 90 break en route to beating World Number One Ronnie Sullivan in Limerick in 2003, will top the bill in a best of three frames decider against White.

Tickets for the night, which begins at 7.30pm, are now on sale for €20 at Gleesons Sports Scence in Limerick and the Limerick Sports Store as well as at the door on the night.

A limited number of VIP tickets costing €50 which will allow guests to meet with White and have front row seats are also on sale and can be purchased by contacting the below number.

Limerick FC and the New Vic Snooker Club have also advised that there are two frames left for auction against White who will play at least nine frames on the night.
