Sligo Rovers moved six points clear at the top of the eircom League First Division with a hard earned 0-0 draw with Dundalk at Oriel Park last night.
A draw was a fair result in the end with both sides guilty of missing a couple of chances with both defences well on top in a tight encounter.
Ger McCarthy, Bryan McCrystal and Stephen McGuinness all went close for the hosts, while Paul McTiernan had Rovers' best chance but he headed wide from a Kupono Low cross early in the second half.
Sean Connor's men are now six points clear of Dublin City and Cobh Ramblers on 53 points, while fifth-placed Dundalk failed to close the gap and remain six points off the play-off spot on 41 points.
Rovers will still have a game in hand after this weekend's programme as a result of their progress to the quarter-finals of the FAI Carlsberg Cup.
