Arsenal will give fitness tests to Gilberto and Dennis Bergkamp ahead of Sunday's game against Birmingham at Highbury.

Bergkamp is rated at  80-20 to recover from back and groin injuries but should still only make the substitutes bench for the Barclays Premiership match.

Gilberto, meanwhile, has a small chance of recovery, according to boss Arsene Wenger, while Philippe Senderos and Thierry Henry are still out.

Provisional squad: Lehmann, Almunia, Lauren, Eboue, Cole, Clichy, Campbell, Toure, Cygan, Gilberto, Flamini, Fabregas, Song, Pires, Ljungberg, Hleb, Reyes, Bergkamp, Van Persie, Owusu-Abeyie.

Birmingham manager Steve Bruce has recalled striker Walter Pandiani to partner Emile Heskey at Highbury.

Pandiani came off the bench to score in last weekend's 2-2 draw with Liverpool and he will replace Mikael Forssell who is still short of full match fitness after undergoing knee surgery last season.

Bruce has only 13 fit senior players available to face the Gunners after a crippling injury list and suspensions to Nicky Butt and Neil Kilkenny.

Olivier Tebily will undergo an injection in his damaged toe in an attempt to face the Gunners but Mario Melchiot is struggling to overcome a knee injury. Rookies Sone Aluko, David Howland, Peter Till, Sam Oji and Marcus Painter have been drafted in.

Team (from): Taylor, Vaesen, Cunningham, Upson, Clapham, Pennant, Johnson, Tebily, Gray, Heskey, Forssell, Pandiani, Lazaridis, Clemence, Melchiot, Aluko, Painter, Howland, Till, Oji.
