Having already won the League Cup at Belfield Park last Tuesday night, Derry City remain firmly on course for another treble-winning season as they defeated Shamrock Rovers 1-0 in their FAI Cup quarter-final clash tonight at Brandywell.
The Candy Stripes join Drogheda, Bray and Cork City in the hat for the semi-final draw next week.
With wind and rain lashing the Brandywell, the game was decided in the 66th minute when Derry striker Gary Beckett poked Alan Murphy's low cross to the net from six yards.
The home side thoroughly deserved the victory having dominated the scoring chances.
But one of the biggest talking points will be the sending-off of Rovers' boss Roddy Collins, who was ordered from the dugout on the stroke of half-time.
It is understood the Dubliner was involved in an altercation with the game's fourth official, Paul Deering.
