Former Chelsea midfielder Didier Deschamps has ruled himself out of an immediate return to coaching after quitting as Monaco boss.

The 36-year-old ended his four-year spell with the club on Monday following a poor start to the French league season.

Deschamps, who guided Monaco to the 2004 Champions League final, heavily criticised the club's lack of financial flexibility in terms of recruitment last week, insisting he did not believe the team was capable of winning the title.

The 1998 World Cup winner eventually chose to leave and has already been linked with moves to Spanish giants Real Madrid and Valencia as well as the French national team.

However, Deschamps told Canal Plus: "I am not available. The truth is that I need rest at the moment and that, this rest, I am going to take it."
