Everton manager David Moyes believes that tonight's trip to Highbury to take on Arsenal could provide his side with the tonic they need to recover following their European collapse last week.

The Toffees travel to Arsenal with only Sunderland below them in the Premiership table, a legacy of a terrible start to the new campaign which reached its worst point in Romania last week.

An embarrassing 5-1 UEFA Cup loss to Dinamo Bucharest was Everton's worst result since their 7-0 drubbing against Arsene Wenger's men last May.

However Moyes is confident that his side can get their season back on track with victory over Arsenal and is hoping that the lack of expectation on his team to beat the Gunners could work in his favour.

"This might be the best way of coming back. If it was against a lesser side there might be more pressure. In this situation the lads have got the chance to show what they are all about and compete with some of the best players in Europe," Moyes said.

"Hopefully, if they go about it the right way, we will not be far away from Arsenal," he added.

Everton have no new injury worries although James Beattie may still be absent with a toe problem and Nuno Valente may be about to pay the price for a disastrous debut against Portsmouth by being axed.

Arsenal will still be without star striker Thierry Henry,  however Sol Campbell is set to continue in the side after returning from a calf injurywhile Jens Lehmann should return in goal.
