Roy Keane broke a bone in his left foot in today's Barclays Premiership game against Liverpool at Anfield, according to reports.

The injury is expected to keep the Manchester United captain out of action for two months, which will certainly rule him out of Ireland's crucial World Cup qualifying Group 4 clashes with Cyprus (away) and Switzerland (home).

Keane, who had just returned from a hamstring injury, was clearly hurt after a clumsy tackle on Luis Garcia.

The Corkman was limping badly when he was substituted on 89 minutes.
