Steve Bruce is likely to field an unchanged side for the visit of unbeaten Charlton Athletic

Birmingham manager Steve Bruce is likely to field an unchanged side for the visit of unbeaten Charlton Athletic tomorrow.

Bruce is set to keep faith with the side which defeated West Brom 3-2 after none of his international players reported back unfit from World Cup duty.

Mikael Forssell will be bubbling with confidence after scoring a midweek hat trick for Finland - his first competitive goals for a year following a serious knee problem.

Northern Ireland heroes Maik Taylor and Damien Johnson are expected to face the Addicks, whose manager, Alan Curbishley, is being tipped as a possible long term replacement for Sven-Goran Eriksson.

Gonzalo Sorondo, Jonathan Spector and Jay Bothroyd could all make their Charlton debuts.

Centre-half Sorondo - on-loan from Inter Milan - returns from a three-match suspension carried over from his spell at Crystal Palace last season, while American full-back Spector, signed for the season from Manchester United, is fit again following a hamstring problem.

Bothroyd goes straight into contention after his deadline-day transfer from Perugia, along with centre-half Talal El Karkouri, back from injury. Matt Holland (rib) is, though, doubtful.

Midfielder Darren Ambrose serves the final match of his three-game ban, while Jason Euell (shoulder) and keeper Dean Kiely (fractured finger) are also not available.

Birmingham squad: Maik Taylor, Melchiot, Upson, Cunningham, Clapham, Pennant, Butt, Jarosik, Johnson, Clemence, Forssell, Izzet, Heskey, Pandiani, Vaesen, Gray.

Charlton squad: Andersen, Young, Perry, Hreidarsson, Powell, Rommedahl, Murphy, Kishishev, Smertin, Thomas, Bent, Spector, Sorondo, Bothroyd, Fortune, Hughes, Bartlett, Holland, Karkouri, Myhre.
