Wigan have signed Republic of Ireland striker David Connolly from Leicester for an initial fee of £2million.
The 28-year-old has signed a three-year deal after agreeing terms and passing a medical this morning.
“The move has all come about very quickly but I'm delighted to be playing in the Premiership at last,” the former West Ham and Wolves striker told Wigan's official website.
“Wigan Athletic is a forward-thinking and ambitious club, with a great manager.
“When you look at what's been achieved here in such a short space of time it's an incredible story and I'm looking forward to playing my part in the adventure.
“As soon as I met with (Wigan manager) Paul Jewell I was impressed with him and his vision for the club.”
Leicester, who signed Connolly from West Ham for £500,000, confirmed they will receive a £2million transfer fee which could rise by £1million.
