Middlesbrough striker Joseph-Desire Job has joined Saudi Arabian side Al Ittihad on a year's loan.

The 27-year-old Cameroon international was finding his first-team chances limited at Boro with Aiyegbeni Yakubu, Mark Viduka and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink all ahead of him in Steve McClaren's pecking order.

Job has made 112 league and cup appearances for the Teessiders after joining from Lens in 2000. He was loaned out to French side Metz in 2001-02, McClaren's first season in charge at the Riverside.

The Boro boss told the club's official website: "We wish Joseph luck in Saudi. He is keen to secure a place in Cameroon's squad as they bid to qualify for next summer's World Cup finals. Understandably, he needs first-team football, which was something I couldn't guarantee him here."
