Dundalk have been awarded a FIFA license for the use of their new playing surface.
The FAI and FIFA have given approval for Dundalk's FAI Cup match with Drogheda United to go ahead in Oriel Park on Friday night.
There was a doubt about the match after reports that the pitch was still unfit for a competitive tie but the match will now go ahead as planned.
The new pitch is turf based and is the first of its kind in the world, according to a club spokesman.
