West Ham have completed the signing of French striker David Bellion from Manchester United on a season long loan deal.
Hammers manager Alan Pardew was happy to have finally increased his striking options. The club has already been turned down in bids to sign Liverpool's Milan Baros, Emmanuel Adeybayor at Monaco and former Hammer Fredi Kanoute at Tottenham.
Pardew stated that he was happy to have signed a young, quick striker that will add a new dimension to their play.
He said "David Bellion was wanted by a number of Premier League clubs and I feel it is a great compliment to this club and it's supporters that he wanted to come to West Ham. David is 22 and will reinvigorate the right hand side of our attack and give me a whole new set of options. He is the sort of player that can break a deadlock with his pace as he is without question one of the quickest players in the Premiership."
Bellion has been unable to hold down a regular spot at United. Injuries and new signings have obstructed his development but Red Devils boss Sir Alex Ferguson believes that the move will be good for Bellion.
He said: " This year-long loan to West Ham, where he will be playing Premiership football, will be beneficial to him. I am sure he will come back a better player for Manchester United."
