Drogheda United’s hopes of European football next season took another knock as they could only pick up a point in a 0-0 draw with struggling Finn Harps at Finn Park.
In a lack-lustre first half, Harps had to wait until the 25th minute before they had their first shot on goal through Stephen Capper.
At the other end Declan O’Brien twice had headers on target while Harps goalkeeper Gavin Cullen did well, at the second attempt, to deny the same player.
The second half was much better fare and Harps lifted their game with the introduction of striker Chris Breen.
The home side’s best chance fell to Martin Lauchlan in the 88th minute while Drogheda had chances of their own to score, with Steven Bradley, Shane Robinson and O’Brien all going close.
