Everton winger Kevin Kilbane believes the signing of Phil Neville from Manchester United is 'a big coup' for the Merseyside club.
Neville, who can operate in a variety of positions, will add European experience to the Blues squad as they prepare for their Champions League qualifier against Villarreal next week.
Kilbane told the club's official website www.evertonfc.com: "He is a big boost for us. He has won a hell of a lot of trophies at Manchester United and he has played a big part in their success.
"He has played his entire career at Manchester United and that means he has an unbelievable level of experience of the Premier League, Europe and international football."
"The fact we have signed a player with Champions League experience tells you everything about where the club wants to go," the Republic of Ireland international added.
"I think it is a big coup for us to get Phil because he is a very good player and he is still only 28. He has a lot of years left in the game and he will help us a lot."
Neville is eligible to face Villarreal, and if he plays it will be his 79th appearance in European competition.
