A 93rd minute winning goal from captain John Meade gave Cobh Ramblers a Munster derby win over fellow promotion chasers Limerick at wet St Colman's Park this evening.
The home side had to come from behind after Jamie Nolan volleyed the Shannonsiders in front on eight minutes.
But the First Division's top scorer Kieran O'Rielly netted his 11th goal of the season, when he pounced from close range after Noel Mooney parried a Davin O'Neill header.
Third placed Ramblers moved to within two points of second in the table Dublin City, when Meade finished a cross from substitute Kevin Mulcahy with the last kick of the game.
City surprisingly lost to rejuvenated Kilkenny City, going down 2-1 against Pat Scully's side at Buckley Park. Philip Sheppard was the match-winner for City with a goal in either half sandwiching a Paul Shiels effort for the visitors.
That result saw leaders Sligo Rovers restore their five point advantage at the top of the eircom League First Division following their 1-0 victory over Kildare County at The Showgrounds.
Midfielder Steve Feeney scored the crucial goal in the 26th minute as Sean Connor's side got back to winning ways following last week's defeat to Kilkenny City. Kildare had Eddie Keyes sent-off five minutes from time following a foul on Fahrudin Kudozovic.
