Goalkeeper Magnus Hedman has left Celtic by mutual consent. The Sweden international joined for £1.5million in August 2002 from Coventry.
But the 32-year-old failed to make a major impact on the first team where Rob
Douglas and David Marshall were favoured by former Celtic manager Martin O'Neill.
Hedman, who has 58 caps to his name, played just 37 times for the Glasgow giants during his career in Scotland.
Hedman also spent time on loan at Italian side Ancona for the second half of the 2003-04 season.
A Celtic statement read: "Celtic Football Club confirms that Magnus Hedman's contract with the club was brought to an end with effect from June 30 2005, by agreement between the player and the club.
"The club is grateful for Magnus' contribution to the team's success in recent years and wishes him well in his future playing career."
New Hoops boss Gordon Strachan has brought in Polish goalkeeper Artur Boruc to work alongside Marshall after Douglas joined Leicester earlier this summer.
