Bordeaux have signed Liverpool midfielder Bruno Cheyrou on a one-year loan with a view to a permanent move.
Cheyrou, 27, joined Liverpool in 2002 before being loaned to Marseille, where he featured in 19 matches last season.
The playmaker has three caps with France but has never been called up under the reign of Raymond Domenech and will be eager to boost his career 12 months before the 2006 World Cup in Germany.
Cheyrou will renew acquaintances with his former Liverpool team-mate, Czech Republic international Vladimir Smicer, who joined Les Girondins on a two-year contract earlier this month.
Bordeaux finished in 15th spot last season and will not play in any European competition next year.
