Hernan Crespo has voiced concerns about his future at AC Milan with his transfer from Chelsea seemingly up in the air.

The Argentinian striker was set to sign a new one-year loan deal last week to remain at Milan, but the 29-year-old has revealed his future is far from certain because of problems with the move.

“This week I will speak personally with Chelsea,” Crespo told the club's official website.

"I'm slightly worried because this is the last card that I can play if I want to remain at Milan. I am confident and calm but I hope that I find people that understand my situation."

Crespo also admitted that he was ready to retire from professional football after his disappointing spell with the Blues in the Premiership.

"I know who I have to thank for what I have today," he said.  "One year ago I really considered hanging up my boots but then I arrived at Milan.

"The Rossoneri club, the doctors are responsible for my return to being a footballer. I have shown to the world that I am a Milan player."

Crespo has certainly seen a revival in his career, playing an essential part in Milan's success last season which saw them reach the final of the Champions League and also challenge for the Serie A title.

He scored a total of 18 goals for the Rossoneri in the 2004-05 campaign where ultimately they finished second in both competitions, losing out to Juventus in the league and Liverpool in Europe.

Moreover, his impressive performances with Carlo Ancelotti's outfit allowed him to return to the national team.

Crespo recently helped Argentina's bid to qualify for the World Cup after scoring twice in the 3-1 win against Brazil earlier this month.

"It's difficult to discuss the future when I still don't know what will be my destination. Until June 30 I am a Milan player and I hope that I am after that date".

The delay in Crespo's move to Milan could be related to Georgian international Kakha Kaladze's move in the opposite direction.

The defender has been a target of Roman Abramovich's outfit, but the clubs have yet to agree on a transfer fee.

"I really don't know if my transfer is related to that of Kaladze," said Crespo. "But I want to find out if that is the case and what my situation is."
