Former Tottenham boss Jacques Santini has returned to football as the new manager of Auxerre.
The Ligue 1 club's vice-president Gerard Bourgoin announced tonight that the 53-year-old former France head coach will replace Guy Roux.
Roux stepped down after Auxerre won the French Cup at the weekend, bringing to an end a 44-year spell in charge at the club.
"I am happy to succeed a monument of football like Guy Roux," said Santini.
Santini was appointed at Tottenham last summer but quit White Hart Lane, citing personal reasons, in November, to be replaced by Martin Jol.
