Former Tottenham boss Jacques Santini has returned to football as the new manager of Auxerre.

The Ligue 1 club's vice-president Gerard Bourgoin announced tonight that the 53-year-old former France head coach will replace Guy Roux.

Roux stepped down after Auxerre won the French Cup at the weekend, bringing to an end a 44-year spell in charge at the club.
