Shelbourne made it six wins on the trot as they beat Finn Harps 3-0 at Tolka Park to maintain their three point lead at the top of the table.

The home side controlled the opening period of the game though it was the visitors who came closest to scoring when Kevin McHugh forced a finger tip save out of Steve Williams with a shot from a tight angle.

But Jamie Harris tapped home a Dave Rogers’ left-wing cross from close range in the 39th minute to set Shelbourne on their way before Richie Baker grabbed his seventh goal of the season in the 48th minute

Jason Byrne completed the scoring in the 90th minute when he coolly beat Gavin Cullen after being put through on goal by Alan Moore.

Meanwhile, UCD's Robbie Martin punished poor goalkeeping to rescue a point for his side against Bohemians as they drew 1-1.

Martin struck on 76 minutes to beat Bohs' keeper Matt Gregg at his near post after the keeper had gifted UCD possession from a sliced clearance.

Bohemians had looked like claiming the three points prior to that after Stephen Ward had volleyed them in front on 54 minutes.
