Cork City legend John Caulfield today guided his Avondale United side to the final of the Munster Senior Cup, and a possible meeting with his old side, following a 3-1 win over Clonmel Town.
Player/Manager Caulfield himself got the scoring underway on 25 minutes. Eoin O'Driscoll and David Spratt then sealed victory with strikes on 55 and 56 minutes.
Michael McHugh got one back for Clonmel just after the hour mark but, try as they might, they couldn't get back into the game.
Cork City meet St Mary's in the other semi-final next Saturday.
