In the eircom First Division tonight, Ger McCarthy's late goal stole the points for Dundalk, who now jump to fourth in the table after this 1-0 nil win over Limerick.
The first-half finished scoreless and was marked by a marvellous save by Chris Bennion in the Dundalk goal after Derek McCarthy had struck an equally impressive shot from 20-yards out.
As the second-half drew to a close and the prospect of a scoreless draw became more real, David McGeough's corner found Ger McCarthy in a crowded penalty area and the Dundalk man flicked home to secure all the points for his side.
