Manchester United's £28million defender Rio Ferdinand has revealed that he wants to sign a new contract with the Old Trafford outfit.
The England centre-half has two years left on his current deal with the FA Cup semi-finalists but would like to stay for at least another five years.
" I want a new contract. I'm happy at United and I see my future here," Ferdinand, 26, told The Sun.
"I hope talks will be positive but my agent is dealing with that and I'm waiting to see the results."
The defender's agent Pini Zahavi added: "Things are progressing well and hopefully we will soon reach a conclusion."
