Longford Town climbed off the bottom of the eircom Premier Division table with a deserved 2-0 victory over Shamrock Rovers at Dalymount Park.
Longford were the better side throughout and could have won by more if it was not for some wayward finishing from their strikers.
They had plenty of opportunities to score before eventually taking the lead in the 70th minute when Stephen Paisley headed home a Dessie Baker corner.
And with 13 minutes remaining, Baker made sure of the points when he beat the Rovers' offside trap before coolly beating Russell Payne.
