French coach Raymond Domenech has called up Olympique Marseille striker Steve Marlet to replace injured Sidney Govou for Wednesday's World Cup Group 4 qualifier against Israel on Wednesday.
It is the first time the 31-year-old Marlet has been picked by Domenech, who took over the team after last year's European championship.
Striker Thierry Henry is still nursing the calf strain that kept him out of last night's goalless home draw with Switzerland and remains doubtful for the match in Tel Aviv.
"He is recovering. There is a training session on Monday and a last one on Tuesday. We will see what is his shape by then," Domenech said.
