Newcastle skipper Alan Shearer insists that he is happy with his side's FA Cup draw despite having to face Manchester United in the semi-final and possibly Arsenal in the final at Cardiff.

Shearer's side have been drawn against the holders in the semi-finals, to be held on April 16 and 17, with the winners returning to Cardiff to face either Arsenal or Blackburn.

The Magpies have already knocked out Chelsea and Tottenham and Shearer, for who the FA Cup could prove to be his final game before retiring, claims that he is more than willing to do things the hard way.

"It's a tough draw, but we have beaten Chelsea and we can do the same to Manchester United. I'm not disappointed with the draw, in the FA Cup you have to take what you get."

"I said before the FA Cup kicked off that you are going to have to beat either Manchester United, Arsenal or Chelsea to win the cup. It could be that we have to beat all three of them, so if we do win it then we'll have certainly done it the hard way," he added.

However, Blackburn defender Ryan Nelsen believes his side can gatecrash the Cup final and cause an upset against Arsenal. "Any team you get in the semi-finals is going to be extremely difficult, so no matter who it was, it was going to be a huge challenge," he said.

"Arsenal are full of great players, but it will be a load of fun. These are  one-off games, form goes out of the window, but we'll enjoy being the underdogs. I love the FA Cup, I can't get enough of it, I'm counting the days down."
