Chelsea have ruled out a summer bid for Barcelona ace Ronaldinho and manager Jose Mourinho has hinted that the big spending days maybe over at Stamford Bridge.
Mourinho claims that the Blues will only sign two players during the summer, with one of them being a left-back.
The Blues boss said: "We are already scouting half-a-dozen of them, who are the best in the world, because only they have the ability to join a super, balanced squad like ours."
Spanish winger Joaquin is still in the frame after Mourinho admitted yesterday that Chelsea had previously made an approach to Real Betis and may return with another bid.
Chelsea are also thought to have enquired about World Player of the Year Ronaldinho in the past, but the 24-year-old Brazilian is no longer on the Stamford Bridge manager's wish list.
"Barca don't have to be afraid about that at all. We will not be back for him," Mourinho said ahead of this week's Champions League clash with the Catalan giants.
"Ronaldinho could play in any team in the world and there's no manager in the world so stupid as to say he wouldn't take him. The boy is absolutely fantastic. But it's a policy of building a team. Our team is still forming and developing. It is not a team which has found its full potential," he added.
"We know very well what we need to improve the squad but I am very happy with what we have. I value the players who are already at Chelsea."
"Also, from an economic point of view, we're not going to spend, spend, spend every year and buy-and-sell, buy-and-sell, buy-and-sell every year. The time must come for stability."
