Former Manchester United defender Ronny Johnsen has signed for Norwegian side Valerenga.
Johnsen indicated he would retire after leaving Newcastle in January but has had a change of heart after returning to his homeland.
Johnsen, who has signed a one-year deal which may be extended at its expiry, told the club's official: "I am very happy and so are my family - I felt I really wanted to play football at a top level again."
Valerenga coach Kjetil Rekdal said: "Even though he is a bit 'up there' age-wise, he still has his pace.
"He has a lot of experience and he will clearly be a valuable addition for us when he is playing - no matter where he might play on the pitch.
"Ronny will use his experience with the younger players around him, by his actions at the training ground and in matches."
