McCarthy completes move to Limerick

Limerick FC have further strengthened their squad for he coming season with the return of striker Derek McCarthy from Galway United.

The 24-year-old, who scored 14 league goals in the 2002/2003 season when the Shannonsiders reached the first division play-offs, also played under new manager Noel O'Connor four seasons ago when the club defeated Derry City in the League Cup final.

Earlier in the week, O'Connor recruited experienced goalkeeper Noel Mooney from Shamrock Rovers.
