Limerick FC are currently in discussions with former Cork City and Shamrock Rovers goalkeeper Noel Mooney about a possible return to Hogan Park.

Mooney began his league career with the Shannonsiders before moving to Turners' Cross.

If he makes the move to the Treaty City, he will face stiff competition from current net minders Jimmy Fyffe and John Healy. Fyffe, in particular, had a fine 2004 season for the Blues but had to play outfield on occasion.

Limerick FC were taken over by a new consortium last week and new boss Noel O'Connor has promised exciting new signings before the season begins in 66 days.
