New Limerick FC manager Noel O'Connor has expressed his delight that the club are to return to their former ground at Hogan Park in Rathbane.
Speaking after last night's meeting in the Treaty City, O'Connor told local radio: "I am happy for Limerick and the team. Hogan Park is Limerick's ground but they have not been able to put roots down since leaving."
Meanwhile, O'Connor has begun the task of building a side capable of pushing for promotion next season. Most of the men who served Mike Kerley so well last season are expected to sign new deals while ex captain Pat Purcell, who spent last season with Waterford United, could make a return home to Shannonside.
Brendan Sweeney, who also played with Limerick before linking up with O'Connor at Cork City, may also return to the blue of Limerick FC. Derek McCarthy, who was present at the meeting last night is another option.
O'Connor added: "We had a good team before I left. Some (of the ex players) will be back, some will not."
