The Irish Sports Council announced today that it has restored a total of €350,000 in funding to the FAI in relation to its Technical Development Plan and the continuing implementation of the Genesis Report.

The decision to restore the money, which had been withheld from the FAI's 2004 Grant, was made following a presentation by the FAI to the Board of the Irish Sports Council on 21 December.

The remaining €150,000 outstanding will be restored when the Sports Council is satisfied that the positions of FAI Chief Executive and Finance Director, which have been publicly advertised, have been filled in an open and transparent manner and the required restructuring of the FAI has been completed in keeping with the spirit of the Genesis Report.
