Rangers moved to within a point of leaders Celtic in the race for the Bank of Scotland Premier League title thanks to a 1-0 win at Kilmarnock.
Shota Arveladze's 16th-minute strike proved to be the only one of a well-balanced encounter which saw the Ayrshire side fail to move any nearer to the top six sides.
The home side had chances of their own but were unable to find a way past goalkeeper Stefan Klos.
Kilmarnock remain in seventh place with 20 points to show from their 19 games so far.
Rangers have 46 points from 19 games, with champions Celtic, who also laboured to a 1-0 win against Dundee United yesterday, on 47.
Today's other match between Livingston and Hearts was postponed because of a partly frozen pitch.
