Eric Lavine hit a double as Longford brought the curtain down on the eircom League season and claimed sixth spot in the Premier Division table.

Lavine punished poor defending from Alan Kirby´s corner to give Town a sixth minute lead.

It was 2-0 on 28 minutes when Lavine´s long-range shot went through the legs of Drogheda keeper Gary Rogers.

Paul Keegan extended the lead six minutes later from a Sean Dillon cross.

Andy Myler got a Drogheda consolation goal midway through the second half with a 30-yard shot.
