Larsson out of Celtic showdown

Henrik Larsson will definitely miss Barcelona's Champions League clash with Celtic on Wednesday after being told that he must have knee surgery. 

The Swedish international was stretchered off in the 72th minute of Barcelona's 3-0 victory over rivals Real Madrid after tumbling awkwardly chasing a pass from Xavi.

The former Celtic forward will have surgery on the left knee on Monday and is set to be sidelined for up to six weeks, meaning that there will be no reunion with his former team-mates on Wednesday.

His injury once again puts the spotlight on the quality of the Nou Camp pitch as he is the fourth Barca player to pick up a serious knee problem after Brazilians Edmilson and Thiago Motta and Gabri.

The Spanish league leaders changed their warm-up training sessions after an investigation.
