Arsenal's Robert Pires has been dropped from the French international squad, following his war of words with manager Raymond Domenech.

Pires has publicly criticised Domenech over his tactics and man-management, and a meeting with French football officials to explain his outburst was postponed on Monday.

In a recent interview with France Football magazine, Pires said: "Nothing in his (Domenech's) attitude leads me to believe he has confidence in me."

"It's like being at school, being 20 and just starting out as a footballer. We need Domenech to give us freedom because he gets on our nerves with his attitudes, his words, his remarks."

"There is turbulence between him and myself. He annoys me. In return, I suppose I annoy him."

There is also no place in the squad for Manchester City's in-form striker Nicholas Anelka. The striker was frozen out of the national team fold after falling out with former France coach Jacques Santini and has not played for France since 2002.

Meanwhile, Domenech has included three new faces in the squad, with midfielders Florent Malouda from Lyon and Bordeaux's Camel Meriem, along with PSG defender Sylvain Armand.
