On loan striker Carlton Cole is in no hurry to return to his club Chelsea in January, and revealed that he would rather stay with Aston Villa in order to play first team football.
Cole is currently with David O'Leary's side, who are hoping to keep him for the rest of the season. However, Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho recently claimed that he may call Cole back early if his striker shortage continues.
With Adrian Mutu sacked by the club and Didier Drogba sidelined after an operation, Chelsea are short on options up front and their manager is believed to be ready to call Cole back.
However, the striker said: "Jose Mourinho said he wanted me to be playing regularly and I was thankful to him for letting me come here."
"Now there's talk about me going back and it is a difficult situation for both clubs. Chelsea are short of strikers and Villa are down to the bare bones."
"It's a difficult one. I've always wanted to play for Chelsea but, unless I'm going to be in the team there, I'd rather stay here at Villa to get more experience," he added.
"The people here have been a big help and, if I'm not going to be involved at Chelsea, I'd really like to stay for the rest of the season and score some goals for Villa."
"This is a learning curve for me and it's one of the best experiences that I can get. But ultimately it is out of my hands. I'm just a player and, wherever I am, I will play with my heart."
