Fran Rooney's tenure as FAI Chief Executive looks less stable after the eircom League Board of Control announced it was writing a letter to FAI President Milo Corcoran to express its dissatisfaction with Rooney's performance in relation to league affairs.
The move comes only days after Corcoran announced that he didn't think he could work with Rooney any longer and that the Chief Executive had no future in the FAI.
Less than a week ago a meeting of the board of management of the FAI was called to discuss beliefs within the FAI that, because of Rooney, relations with the Government, the IRFU and the Irish Sports Council were under strain.
