Celtic's Brazilian playmaker Juninho has apologised for his part in the Bhoy's disastrous Champions League Group F defeat in the Ukraine last night.
Celtic's Champions League campaign looks to be all but over after defeat against Shakhtar Donetsk left them stuck at the bottom of their group, without a point from three games, and while few would point the finger of blame at Juninho for last night's defeat, he still feels responsible.
"Maybe 3-0 was too much but we didn't deserve to win, most of all in the second half we made a lot of mistakes," the former Middlesbrough player admitted.
"I couldn't get into the game and there were too many mistakes on my part. I am very sorry that I couldn't help the team. This was an exception after some good performances and a goal."
"I just couldn't get it and my touch was bad. I was always late on the ball. It is nothing about coming into a new team. It was all on me. We will be better in the second game and not do especially what I did," he added.
However, despite their problems at the moment, Juninho is refusing to throw in the towel and will be out for revenge when Shakhtar Donetsk visit Parkhead in two weeks time.
" It's obviously a very disappointing result and a big team like Celtic has to keep our heads up. We have to be better in two weeks because it's one of the most important games of the season. We have to be ready for that," he insisted.
