Sean Dillon was the Longford hero with a stunning winning goal against Drogheda United to book the holders' place in the final of the FAI Cup with Waterford on Sunday fortnight.
Dillon pounced on a poor clearance to curl a stunning right-foot shot into the top corner of the net from 25 yards with 114 minutes played.
Having won twice at the venue already this season, Town enjoy playing at United Park and they were good value for their half-time lead which came on 32 minutes.
Shane Barrett was put clear down the left from Paul Keegan’s header and his sublime cross was turned into the net at the back post by John Martin.
Having survived Dessie Baker's lob coming back off their bar a minute after the break, Drogheda levelled on 49 minutes.
After a tense 24 minutes of extra-time the sides looked destined for a penalty shoot-out, but with just six minutes remaining, Dillon struck to send the midlanders through.
