The Republic of Ireland Under-17 team qualified for Phase 2 of the UEFA Championships following a comprehensive 5-0 win over Lithuania in Germany today.

Ireland opened the scoring after 16 minutes through Alan Judge and went further ahead 7 minutes before the break thanks to an Eddie Nolan penalty.

Anthony Stokes brought his goal tally for the first phase to four when he netted on 55 and 58 minutes. Ireland completed their scoring on the hour when Alan Judge claimed his second goal of the game.

In the other game in the Group hosts Germany beat Iceland 1-0 to clinch top place in the Group.

Ireland qualify in second place for the 2nd Qualifying Phase which will be played next Spring in a Group which will also include England.
