McCann misses out on Scotland place

Southampton winger Neil McCann has missed out on a place in weakened Scotland squad due to injury.

McCann, who has not played for the national team since the
friendly in Denmark in April, was named in the 20-man squad but has now been forced to withdraw.

However, there is better news for Hibernian midfielder Ian Murray who was sidelined for 10 months with a knee injury and stomach problems.

Murray made his comeback for Hibs in the 2-1 Bank of Scotland Premier League win at Inverness in September and will now hope to complete his rehabilitation by lining out for his country.

Hearts defender Steven Pressley has been suffering from a virus but should be fit after missing last month's 0-0 draw with Slovenia.

Scotland squad:
C Gordon (Hearts), D Marshall (Celtic), R Anderson (Aberdeen), G Caldwell (Hibernian), G Naysmith (Everton), S Pressley (Hearts), A Webster (Hearts), C Cameron (Wolves), B Ferguson (Blackburn Rovers), D Fletcher (Manchester United), G Holt (Norwich City), I Murray (Hibernian), S Pearson (Celtic), N Quashie (Portsmouth), S Crawford (Plymouth Argyle), P Dickov (Blackburn Rovers), J McFadden (Everton), K Miller (Wolves), S Thompson (Rangers).
